Date: 15th & 16th September 2014 Venue: Conrad Dubai

In 2014, we will launch our inaugural global Islamic financial based forum. This follows HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to position Dubai as a main player in a bid to create a world-class Islamic economy and REDmoney’s exclusive agreement with the Dubai Economic Council and the Dubai Government to collaborate on strategic projects that will not only support Dubai Government initiatives but will also boost the economy and sustainable economic development in Dubai and the UAE and to facilitate the implementation of the Dubai Government’s agenda on the ‘Islamic economy” issue.

This two-day, practitioner-based, event will be co-organized with the Dubai Economic Council, Dubai Government and other key regulators. All facets of the global Islamic financial markets will be featured either in the main forum hall or parallel sessions. The IFN Working Committee format will play a key role at this event, highlighting the necessity to develop the global Islamic financial industry. The forum is expected to attract the world’s leading practitioners. Dubai is also the strategic location to all key markets of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The annual IFN Global Forum is expected to be the largest event of the year, boasting industry players from established and up-and-coming markets across the world and bringing together the best and brightest in the industry to discuss key issues on a global platform.

Halal Financing Breakout

Halal financing is becoming an increasingly relevant topic as the industry looks to align itself to the exponential growth of the halal food and pharmaceutical market. A first for the IFN Forum Series, this breakout session was initiated as a response to calls from the market to create a synergy between Islamic finance and the growing Halal industry which is currently said to be worth an average of US$560 billion a year.

This session will focus on investment opportunities within the halal sector, with the aim to create a tangible link between banks, venture capitalists and financial institutions; with halal certification providers, manufacturers and distributors.

The Dubai Dialogue - 15th September 2014

The Dubai Dialogue is a high level, invite-only roundtable event comprising senior regulators and market leaders representing the Islamic finance industry in the Middle East. A select group of international representatives will also be invited. This closed door meeting will focus exclusively on Dubai’s bid to become an international Islamic economy center . There will be two levels of participation at the roundtable – as a participant or as an observer. 20 participants will be selected to play an active role in discussing and debating the issues on the agenda while a further 20 will be invited as observers.

To facilitate open and honest discussion no media will be invited to cover the event. A post-dialogue report will however be made available to delegates attending the main forum.

As the dialogue is an invite-only event no registration form is available.

In yet another move to increase the interaction between delegates and panelists, we have introduced a live Twitter feed to the moderators. Delegates are invited to send ‘Tweets’ to the exclusive IFNForums feed at any time prior to or during a session, allowing you the opportunity to ask pertinent and timely questions rather than waiting until the end.

Questions sent via Twitter will take precedence over those from the floor. The Twitter format ensures questions are short and to the point saving time and allowing each session to flow freely. Tweets will be displayed on a monitor placed on the moderators table.
